The time you take preparing for a prayer session with Hands on Healing Ministries is just as important as the actual time we spend together. Therefore, before meeting with us, take time preparing your heart for what God wants to say to you during our prayer time.
- CONFESS YOUR SINS
It is very important to cleanse yourself of all your sins prior to receiving prayer for spiritual, emotional, and/or physical healing. You do not want anything standing in the way of full communication between you and your Creator. Therefore, go to God confessing all of your sins. Pour over Psalm 51, so that you are washed clean before our prayer time together.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
- ASK GOD TO PREPARE YOUR HEART
Ask God to prepare you for what he wants to accomplish in you and through our prayer time together. Obviously, you will have your own thoughts of your prayer requests when you come to us; however, God may want to accomplish other things as well. Pay attention to what he brings to your mind in the days prior to our time together.
Journal as you prepare, so that you will have in writing anything and everything God may bring to your mind, including: scripture verses, past experiences, and past encounters with him. Be open to what he brings to your remembrance, since those things may be directly related to the root causes to what currently ails you.
- REMOVE ALL DOUBTS
Ask God to remove any doubts that you may have that he is in control, has the best plan for your life, and is the God of miracles. You must believe that your Creator can change ANYTHING at any time!!! You must believe that your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is still in the business of miracles.
"Jesus said… ‘All things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, ‘I believe; help my unbelief’" (Mark 9:23-24).
"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind" (James 1:5).
- PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME
Finally, and most importantly, spend time in the days before our prayer session lifting up Yahweh’s holy name. Spend time praising him for who he is and for his sovereignty. Pour over Psalm 29 in order to understand the true power and majesty of Yahweh's voice and what his voice is capable of accomplishing.
"O Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is thy name in all the earth" (Psalm 8:1).
- PREPARE TO HEAR GOD’S VOICE
Scripture tells us that when we call to our Lord and Savior, he will answer us, and that when he does, we will be provided with his wisdom. There is nothing that God enjoys more than communicating with his children. Therefore, get excited and expect to hear God’s voice through our prayer time together!
"Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it---Yahweh is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things which you have not known" (Jeremiah 33:2-3).
"CALL (cry out, shout, yell, scream, hail, bellow, roar, holler) to me and I will ANSWER (respond, comeback, reply to) you and will TELL (inform, notify, let know, make aware, alert, warn, fill in, clue in, state, declare, divulge, communicate to) you GREAT (considerable, substantial, significant, special, serious, exceptional, extraordinary, sizable, amply, vast, immense, huge, massive, humongous, whopping, enormous, magnificent, imposing, impressive, majestic, grand) and HIDDEN (cloaked, secret, undercover, invisible, unseen, out of sight, closeted, covert, secluded, tucked away, camouflaged, disguised, masked, concealed) things which you have not known" (Jeremiah 33:3).
Now that’s an incredible promise!!!
